Come spend your summer with us at The Oaks of Lake City, an O'Connor Signature facility. We are the world's first and only branded equestrian community in the world. We are also home to the only CHA-accredited site in the state of Florida - all of our instructors are certified, very experienced and can teach in various disciplines. All camp instructors are also CPR and First-Aid Certified!
Five (5) one-week sessions, take one or take them all. Must be at least seven years old to attend.
Now offering overnight camp for beginner, novice & intermediate sessions! $50 additional per camper, per week - includes three meals a day!
$500 per week. Final payment is due at least two weeks prior to camp. $100 for Horse and pony rental - limited number available.Click here for the registration form.

Camp Activities include: Horse Care and Management - Barn Care - Guest Speakers - Crafts - Riding and Instruction - Course Building - Tack-Horse Knowledge - Horse First Aid/Bandaging - PC Badge Program Awareness - Trail and XC Safety - Horse Painting and Bathing - Getting Ready to Show! - Understanding the Recognized Rules - Score/Dressage Sheets and Tests - A Float Down the Springs (don't forget your swimsuit!) - and much more!
Camp Sessions are Monday - Friday, from 9am - 4pm. Campers may arrive on Sunday nights, or the first thing on Monday morning. Must be ready to go by 9am on Monday.
Beginner: July 13th-July 17th-SOLD OUT!
Learn basic riding skills while exploring the different kinds of colors, types and sizes of horses. We'll put horses in scrapbooks, on t-shirts, jewelry, etc. Campers will have various guest speakers and lots of crafts, as well as fun riding games. Students will be able to show off what they learned at the Friday show. Suitable for the true beginner through D-1.
Novice: July 20th-July 24th-COMBINED WITH INTERMEDIATE SESSION!
All about having fun! Going to the shows, PC Ratings, Hunter Paces, XC, etc. Campers will have various guest speakers, watch horse videos, and compete in the OEC Horse Show on Friday. Must feel comfortable riding out in the open and with groups. Suitable for most D-1 through C-1 riders. We will have 2 groups- one for the younger kids and an older group that is more experienced.
Intermediate: August 3rd-August 7th-A FEW SPOTS STILL OPEN-HURRY CALL NOW!
(Available for coaching at Rocking Horse Schooling Show on Saturday, August 8th)
Advanced Riding Skills will feature advanced instruction and knowledge of various kinds of shows, as well as how we are judged. In-depth coverage of course design, exercises to increase horse and rider's level of fitness, mental preparation, XC and gymnastic jumping. All campers applying for the advanced camp must have the recommendation of a current/previous trainer, or be willing to be evaluated by one of our Team Members/Instructors at least one week prior to camp. Suitable for young adults and adults competing, or about to compete, at the recognized novice level-preliminary. Also suitable for C-2 Pony clubbers-B level.
Horse & Stable Management: July 27th-July 31st-SOLD OUT!
In-depth study of the care, conditioning and management of our horses and barns. Students will learn emergency care, poulticing, evacuation tips, lunging exercises, leg care, clipping, trimming, horse transportation, administration of meds, nutrition tips, and much more. Straight from the O'Connor methods, including guest speakers! Suitable for everyone and anyone wanting to know and learn more about horse care.
Adult Riding Club: August 10th-August 14th
Have you ever wondered why there isn't an Adult Pony Club? Well, they are out there. We want to start our very own OEC Adult Riding Club, and we want you to join in this week-long introductory workshop/clinic, where we will build "our club". All levels and disciplines welcome!
Lunch will be provided for all campers daily. Snacks and drinks will also be provided for campers on a daily basis. We have a wonderful air-conditioned lounge overlooking our covered arena, safe and schooled horses, experienced instructors, and opportunities to learn from team members/instructors that compete at the upper levels and have been coached and taught by David & Karen O'Connor.
All registered campers will be expected to provide negative coggins on their horse, and to sign a release waiver prior to the first day of camp. All riders under the age of 18 must have signed parental consent.
